Born
a while ago in London and raised in the sleepy backwater of Clacton-on-Sea,
Angela is a classically-trained pianist but has recently achieved
a long-cherished dream of learning to play the trumpet. Her musical
path took her to Leeds University where she studied French and
Music, spending a year teaching English in France, where she formed
a choir at the school she was teaching in.
Back
in Leeds, after graduating, Angela married Phil, gained a diploma
in Librarianship and embarked on the great adventure of motherhood.
Not one to be deterred by a challenge, nor the presence of four
(wonderful) children, Angela continued to sing with the Leeds
Guild of Singers and took up piano teaching and woodwork as an
antidote to nappies and toddler talk. Her involvement in all things
musical has seen her playing flute, keyboard and trumpet in church,
running an under-5's music and movement class, administrating
the fan club for the band Iona, running a school orchestra and
playing her beloved trumpet in a local orchestra and jazz band.
Musical
influences vary, being heavily classical in the early years, through
a love of Simon and Garfunkel, to a newly-discovered interest
in jazz, plus a re-acquaintance with pop music thanks to dawn-to-dusk
Atomic Kitten and S-Club emanating from her 11-year-old's bedroom.
